Lynne, you know me...when I get the chills, it's often because it's touched me deeply, in a profound way. It's right. It's real. And decades of working together, going through life together and creating masterpieces that have changed lives, allows me to read this with a greater depth of understanding than many. I cannot wait for the next column.
Thank you for making me part of it. I always valued your wiseness and will now be able to continue to do so thanks to this beautiful initiative! Happy new year to both of you!
As a recent new friend who shared the same cosmetic industry experiences, I am fascinated that you have come to this wonderful realization. I am happy to follow you on your journey and thank you for including me. And Thanks to my dearest friend, Elizabeth Rankin for the introduction.
Dear Lynne thank you for writing about something that we experience regularly (probably daily). That inner voice is rarely a cheer leader. Managing it to improve your wellbeing is logical but difficult in practice. There has to be a way to assert yourself to succeed in life, without constantly critiquing your actions, decisions and thoughts. Maybe you’ve unlocked an approach that others have ignored. So I look forward to your posts and some Barefaced Living.
Dear Lynne, bravo for taking this step and sharing so candidly! The greatest gift we can pass on from living a long, interesting, eventful and accomplished life is our wisdom. A Buddhist friend and I once chatted about the purpose of growing old; she said the purpose of older people is to provide beacons of hope and navigation for young people; we are tangible proof that one can face many obstacles along one's journey, and not only survive, but thrive. I will share this substack with my 2 daughters in their twenties and early professional lives and I am thanking you in advance; I KNOW that what you describe about the internal voice and the external face is universally experienced by many and learning to live barefaced is our quest!
I hold you in such high regard. It will be great to chat with the 'likes' of you in this column. Would love your daughters' candid thoughts as well. To your Buddist friend's point, we can not only survive, but thrive. We are here to help those who are younger thrive as soon as they can!
.. And there is much wisdom to hear from that Inner child and wise woman. of yours. You are the epitome of wise words and deeds. Never, ever known anyone like you! From the cover of Town & Country to my world, as my friend. I am so blessed.
Lynne , I just lost my reply to you :( Substack ...please!
